Our Industrial Design partner DDSTUDIO engaged Powell Design to design the next generation TruMed AccuVax Vaccine Management system. This was a fully integrated design project that included the collaborative design of both the hardware and software to create a seamless user experience.

Our work included the design of the product user interface that began with extensive research that informed the fully touch-based user experience (UX). That touch UX was realized in a robust prototype (on a full-size mockup of the hardware with a working display) and then validated with nurses and nurse managers for the ideal workflow. Once the workflow was solidified, the look and feel UI concepts were created to elevate the brand. A single direction was chosen and then applied to the over 200 screens that make up the entire system.

Highlights:

• Extensive research at various project stages with nurses who administer vaccines regularly as well as nurse managers who manage vaccine inventory. Insights and learnings were applied at each stage.
• One-to-one Mapping of Vaccines in Respective Slots
• Color on Display matches Color of Vaccine Cap
• TruMed is now expanding the system to include non-chilled storage management.
